Legalization of online gambling in US was opposed by Tea Party

US political climate is not improving the legal environment for online gambling, especially with Tea Party involved.

The political scene in America is very complicated sometimes. Politicians who are making a lot of noise earn are standing in the center of attention, while the ones with good thinking and best ideas for the true values of mankind are blured by the noise. The biggest problems of America deosn;t seems to be its economical situation, but more the political scene, which is so divided that it blocks out the country’s progress.

The ultra right Tea Party is making people realize that the time has come for a change to be made. A debate has been made recently in Florida between the four candidates seeking to be the Republican challenger to US Senator Bill Nelson(D-FL) in the November election, in 2012. Although the party has the image of a true patriot with revolutionary ideas and always aiming to stand up for the libertarian principals, its atitude regarding online gambling was totally negative.

All the proposed candidates, George LeMieux, Adam Hasner, Mike McCalister and Craig Miller, expressed their opposition to legalization of online gambling. Political science professors have studies the Tea Party phenomenon and determined it to be the old Religious Right, with the cover of the Revolutionary War – era tricorn hats. Before the appearance of this new party, the studies revealed that the strongest predictor of being a Tea Party supporter was the wish back in 2006, to see the religion involved in politics.

It is rather unlikely that online gambling will be passed by the present members involved in the political scene nowadays, with the Republican majority in the US Senate.

Religious groups and Religion groups have strongly militated against gambling for a very long time and it hasn’t stopped this activity yet, even though gambling still exists.
