On May 21st, 2009, it was a tough test of brawn and brains for one Lilli Pilli resident last night, who appeared on Channel Nine's NRL Footy Show's Keno Million Dollar Hot Seat show. Retiree James Gill entered the competition to try winning $1 million in the Keno Million Dollar show.
On Wednesday, Gill admitted that he was very nervous and found it difficult to sleep at night. He said that he entered the show about 3 weeks ago and added that he usually tries to enter any contest on the television but never in his wildest dreams that they would choose him.
One of the challenges in the keno game show was a test regarding his ball passing skills, which he rigorously trained for before leaving Lilli Pilli. James Gill said that he practice about five minutes before the show but he would not take the whole thing to seriously. Gill and his wife Ethel received a one night accommodation at the Star City Casino and were driven by a chauffeur to the studios of Channel Nine.
