Jim Dancy Donates Keno Winnings to the Greater Kalamazoo United Way

On April 23rd, 2009, a man from Kalamazoo who won $10,000 in the Michigan Lottery's Club keno game has donated his monetary winnings to a charity. Jim Dancy of Richland decided that his winnings are needed by others more than he did so he donated it all to the Greater Kalamazoo United Way. Dancy stated in a statement released by the Michigan Lottery that his decision was influenced by his friend Julie, who taught him to think of the welfare of others first and to think what life is all about.

Dancy added that with the current condition of the economy, he is convince that it is the right thing to do. Jim Dancy, is the vice president, chief operating officer and co-founder of Innovate Analytics, a biological research institute in Kalamazoo.

Greater Kalamazoo United Way's president and chief executive, Mike Larson, called Dancy's gesture a big act of kindness and said that the $10,000 generation could not have come at a better time because they need additional funding for their projects.
