On July 24th, 2008, the online gaming industry has been dominated by underground groups ever since the U.S. Government made it difficult for online organizations to accept wagers from customers that living in the United States. Individual states in the U.S. are aware on the revenue generating potential of online gaming. The state of Ohio will implement their new gaming plan on August 4th, 2008. Around 1,001 agents all over the state will be offering a brand new keno online lottery game to their customers.
The new Ohio lottery game is expected to produce $70 million annually, which will be allocated in balancing the state budget and education. The state of Ohio is simply trying to adapt with the changing times. Service officer Joe Caputo said that they will be offering keno because a lot of their customers have been requesting for the game for a long time now. He added that this is also a good way for Ohio to keep afloat in these difficult times. The present climate is not doing any good for the state lotteries.
While some state lotteries are growing and achieving historic all time high with their level of revenue, other state lotteries are experiencing a significant drop with their earnings because of the weakening economy. A lot of businesses in Ohio have also decided to offer keno on order to increase their profits. Edmund Gazdazko of Sto-Kent Family Entertainment said that he likes the idea of the lottery because it will support schools.
