It turns out that the Keno player codenamed "Lost" is not as unlucky as his name suggests, since he became a millionaire overnight. This lucky man from a rural fishing village at Stuart's Point, Australia, did not want to be identified for security reasons. On Wednesday, January 10, 2007, he won a total of $1.76 million at the Keno 10 Spot which took place at Stuart's Point Workers Club.
The winner, a 44 year-old car dealer, commented that he has been playing the game of Keno at least once a week since he moved to Stuart's Point almost 15 years ago and he usually goes there with his friends to relax. Before winning, the man had only been playing for about 5 minutes. Before the million dollar win, he won about $14 so he thought he'd try the 10 numbers and won the big one! The winner said that he had been reviewing the numbers for a while and it they did not mean anything to him, so he simply chose randomly.
When one of the bar employees of came to inform him of his win, he actually thought that the lady before him was the winner. He plans to spend some of his winnings on a house for his sister and her children near his home, as well as a fishing trip to Darwin.
