On July 10th, 2008, if the weekly jackpots were not enough to satisfy gambling enthusiasts, the Ohio Lottery will be launching the game of keno by August 2008. More than one thousand businesses in Ohio, including two business establishments in Brown County are set to offer keno in their business establishment.
In Aberdeen, Larry Aldridge of Town and Country Lanes is hoping that the excitement for the game will pour over to their bowling lanes. Keno gives players the opportunity to pick ten digits from the available twenty digits. Twenty digits will be draw randomly every 4 minutes, from 11:04 a.m. to 1:44 a.m., with sales and payouts starting at 6:00 a.m. If the player manages to get all of the correct ten numbers, the player can win as much as $100,000.
According to the Ohio Lottery spokesperson Marie Kilbane-Seckers, if the player does not get all of the numbers, the player will be awarded accordingly the equivalent amount of the numbers that they were able to get. Even if the player is not able to get a correct number, they will still be given a prize.
Kilbane- Seckers said that the application process to become a retailer will take 3-6 weeks. She added that if it is already a known lottery location, the process to offer keno will involve the addition of a monitor or screen so that players can observe the drawings.
