The commissioners of Otoe County directed proposal for keno in Nebraska City to the city council on July 14th, 2009. George Payne of Advance Gaming Technologies told Otoe County commissioners that The Avenue Grill in 610 Central Avenue and The Depot in 725 S. Sixth St., had agreed to operate keno games.
Commissioners said that the city council has the power to decide where the games inside the city limits will take place. Once the city has approved a game like keno, it will go before the county board for final approval. Payne stated that the keno group examined the Linemen, 616 Central Avenue, Ron's Bar and Grill, 1219 Central Avenue, The End Zone, 703 S. 11th St. and the Eagles Club, 600 First Corso to see if they can host keno or not.
Payne said that only The Avenue Grill and The Depot were interested in offering keno at this time. The Clubhouse at Table Creek Golf Course west of Nebraska City is currently offering keno. He stated that the proposed keno games inside Nebraska city are called satellite games but they are really stand-alone games. Gaming equipment will keep track of wagering and prizes at each location.
