More individuals in the Visayas and Mindanao in the Philippines are enjoying the numbers game, with total lottery sales there improving by almost a fifth to P7.69 billion pesos last year.
Listed Pacific Online, the exclusive online lottery provider of the state-owned PCSO (Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office) in the Visayas and Mindanao, credited lottery revenue growth to an aggressive launch of terminals, whose numbers went up by 16% to 1,748 last year.
Pacific Online officials said to the Philippine Stock Exchange on January 6th, 2010 that the significant jackpots during 2009 further improved the interest of the public, thus improving sales of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office. Meanwhile, sales of keno-a gambling game that bears a lot of similarities to bingo-almost tripled to P88.67 billion pesos in 2009 from P32.3 million pesos a year earlier.
Pacific Online through its subsidiary, Total Gaming Technologies, which possess the equipment lease agreement for nationwide keno, launched sixty-six more betting terminals to add to its thirty-four terminals in 2008.
Pacific Online officials said that increase in machine roll-out is planned for 2010 to further improve keno operations.
