The Total Keno Winnings of Douglas County Residents

On March 23rd, 2008, the people of Douglas County won a total of $459,034 in keno winnings in Oregon Lottery for the cash prizes of $600 or above. Mr. Joseph Lehning, who is from Roseburg, was the biggest lottery winner of the Douglas County. Lehning won a total of $43,032 in a keno game.

Fellow Roseburg resident Linda Bettencourt also won $36,000 from the game o' keno while Mr. Douglas Hughes from Myrtle Creek also won $30,245 from the game. The biggest scratch ticket won by a resident from Douglas County was the twenty-five thousand dollars won by Ms. Nancy Peters from Roseburg.

Some of the other big and lucky winners from Roseburg are Mr. Jerry Britt with $20,000; Ms. Lois McMullin from Yoncalla with $12,000; Ray Bellinger from Drain with $10,000 and Ms. Mary Winston from Sutherlin with $10,000.

About 150 residents from Douglas County won keno prizes worth more than $600 or more. Of those prizes, about 94 people won money prizes of one thousand dollars or more.

Across Roseburg, three hundred ninety million dollars in lottery prizes were given out during the year 2007. Since the Oregon Lottery started selling lottery tickets back in April 1985, which is more than thirteen billion dollars in total prizes has been given out to players.

During that time, the state has earned more than $5.3 billion. Revenues have been utilized for state development, education, parks and watershed development.
